Smells like Summer

It's amazing to say that I've just finished my 3rd year teaching.  It flows out of my mouth, and it sounds like, *gasp* a CAREER.  In many regards, this has been my best year yet, and I'm really looking forward to next year.

08-09 School year Highlights

• invested in teaching Special Education students
• successful SOL/testing scores 
• my first attempt at writing and directing a show - Fast Forward
• successful Forensics season (3 medals!)

I'm sure there are more, but I'm trying to sort through the year and reflect.  But, for now, this trip is monopolizing my thoughts.  Perhaps in July/August I'll find some time to think about my growth this school year.  I will miss my kids though.  I felt very needed this year, and I can only hope I had a positive influence on them.  It's amazing to think about how one life can be so affected by another.  These kids effect me every day, and shape my decisions and choices more than they know.  In the Fall, I'll be met with a slew of new faces, names, and challenges that hopefully, I will meet with grace and conviction.  

So long school, and hello Summer :)
