Europe Trip Summer 2009

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - Mark Twain

Well, we are packed and ready to roll.  Packing has proven to be one of the most stressful parts of International travel.  Yeesh!  But, I am fairly proud of how we have down-sized and compromised to get this trip underway.  Besides, whatever we forget we can get over there.  Matt had to remind me that there are indeed stores in the UK and France.  We'll survive :)

So, as promised, I am giving a sampling from our itinerary of some of the highlights we have planned.

London 6/21 - 6/27
  • Hop on/Hop off Bus Tour
  • Rambert School Ballet Performance - National Opera House
  • Fullers Brewery Tour
  • Globe Theatre Tour and performance of As You Like It
  • Madame Tussauds Wax Museum
  • The British Museum, Natural History Museum, Imperial War Museum
  • The London Eye
Nice 6/28 - 7/2
  • BEACH
  • Train ride to Cannes? Antibes? Monaco?
Paris 7/2 - 7/5
  • Eiffel Tower
  • Musee de Lourve
  • Bike Tour of the city
We're pretty flexible, and I am not sure if we will see all the museums we have marked while we are in London.  There are still plenty of unknowns, mainly the logistics of the Underground and train stations, but I'm confident we will figure it out.  Everyone promises me that everything is well-marked, but they forget, you are talking to a Directionally Challenged individual.  But, I'll keep close to my Geographically Inclined husband, and I should be fine :)

We're hoping to return with lots of gifts, pictures, and unforgettable memories.  Thanks for all the love, support, and advice from our family and friends.  Au Revoir America!
