As an adult, this excitement has not faded, but ignited into a weekend-love-affair. I positively live for my two (three if I'm lucky) days off during the week. As a naive young 20-something, I once told myself that I should have a job that I didn't resent going to. Yes, the weekends would be wonderful, but I wanted a job that didn't feel like, well, work. Now, several years later, I know that work is work. Even though I have great days and laugh often, it is still my job.
There is nothing I love better than escaping school on a hot Friday afternoon at the end of May. Radio on, listening to some old school Nirvana and driving home. Of course, now I have tons of chores and errands to attend to - but that does not dampen my spirits. I need a mental refresher, a Slurpie for my brain. Minus the brain freeze.
Happy Weekend :)
