~ A hard-working and loving husband who gives of himself selflessly so that I can stay home and care for our daughter. I know many women are not as blessed, and I thank my lucky stars daily that I married him.
~ On that same note, I am thankful for my time at home this year. The more I consider the option, the less I want to put Amelia in daycare and return to work. Of course, there are days when the stay-at-home-mommy gig is draining. I miss adult conversation and busy days at times, but then something miraculous happens with my 9 month old and I just sigh from pure bliss.
~ I've made some great friends this year for myself and Amelia. We have joined two different meetup groups and our social calendar is busier than it's ever been! We have several first birthday parties to celebrate over the coming months - very exciting :) I'm thankful for the adult time, advice, and social interaction for Amelia. She LOVES her friends, hehe.
~ I'm thankful my old jeans fit, lol. True, they don't fit the same way, but at least they zip and button!
~ I'm grateful for the guided decisions that Matt and I have made for our family over the past couple of years. Whenever we go house or car crazy, we talk each other down from the impulsivity ledge and count our blessings. We take it a day at a time, and try to remember that the grass is not always greener over that white, picked fence.
~ No television = more time for connecting, reading, and agreeing on what movie or Hulu show to watch. I really suggest sticking it to the cable company for at least a year. Take that Cox!
~ A healthy, fun, smart and beautiful baby girl :) Her first year is flying by, and I am always amazed at everything she does. Her record so far is 6 unassisted steps - yikes!
On that note, it's time to venture out this cold January day and buy a sturdy baby gate!
